Corksniffing pedal users will be scratching their heads for years over this incredible pedal. Das Lovepedal Eternity Burst. Ya.
This is no Tubescreamer, however it has been described as a TS type pedal without a buffer. There is a definite reason why this pedal has gone through umpteen iterations and that answer lies in a simple metaphor: chocolate.
Yes, maybe you dislike , even abhor metaphors. Fine. But everyone, and I mean everyone likes chocolate.
Once you taste chocolate, it wins. It is an exquisite melty rainbow of goodness which warms your heart, feet and soul.
What if you get a bit bored with chocolate, but haven’t found another substance that can rival it’s tones? You try Dark chocolate, 60%, 85%, Sea salt, carmel (note: I will not even give the word caramel a chance to speak up…caramel a false candy, an imposter…carmel, is.) The different combinations of manufacture processes comes up with different sounds throughout time. And in 2016, the Lovepedal Eternity Burst has darkened the door.
End metaphor. You get it, right?
PCB, Handwired, soft click switch, different IC…I have no idea what else has been varied on these besides the paint job and the resistors…
Andy Summers of the Police – THE Police – and Richard Fortner (just google some of his playing) swear by this pedal.
Eternity Burst Hardware
There are no shortage of circuitboard etchers who have cloned this circuit, as simple as it is.The mil spec PCB board that Sean designed and produces down the road from his shop in Michigan is impressive. It is a piece of green plastic, yes, but you might be missing the point. Every part of this hotrod has been tuned and tested.
Some believe that handwired pedals are the way to go, and that they accentuate tone in a certain way. Go and hand over an extra $150, bro. Go ahead. This PCB is great at what it was designed to be. An extremely versatile pedal without dark spots. The burst paint job is what it is. The true bypass, silent click switch is true to form and the internal components are top drawer.
Eternity Burst Sounds
Open, true, grit, crunch. For the light pricetage on this one, you cannot go wrong. Using the volume knob, you essentially get to play the pedal as though it is an extension of the amp. One needs no Klon to make this claim of synergy between amp and pedal.
If given a choice for one versatile and gracious drive, I’d either land in the Andy Timmons @ pedal by JHS or in the Lovepedal Eternity Burst.
