A tape delay that sounds like the real thing, yet mechanically is even better than the real thing may be too much to ask for. If you are looking for quite possibly the most perfect sounding delay, look no further. Introducing the Lovepedal Hermida EPH3 Tape Delay Pedal.
The Hermida Audio EPH3 Pedal is a new pedal effect unit echoing on the standard for tape delay, the Echoplex E-3. Many people settle for tape delays which offer degradation of signal, citing authenticity to vintage units. As a result of this idea, this is one of the most true to tone delay pedals I have used. If you didn’t get the Echoplex reference, F3 is the button one can push on a PC that will copy anything. This is clever, oh so clever.
Tape Delay Hardware
First of all, the standard 4 knob Lovepedal/Hermida design as of late is side input/output jacks, with dc barrel-shaped power jack on the input side. To be sure, this is a reliable design, is not cumbersome nor complicated to use. What is nice about Lovepedal is that the PCB boards are made nearby the facility down the street from their shop in Michigan. Possibly, this fact is reassuring. While one may be focusing on only buying from America, there are no concerns with Lovepedal. Seems like the unit isn’t heavy as a brick, nor too light. The Switch is True bypass. Components are mounted directly to the board without excess wiring, which keeps interference at bay.
Tape Delay Sounds
Take a moment to listen to the pristine and warm nature of a tape delay unit and at once one will notice that there is something special about the fidelity of the repeated notes.
Please understand that prices for tape delay units are unusually high for a guitar effect. The Hermida Audio EPH3 offers the tonal qualities of the big dogs. It accomplishes this through a small enclosure and digital component which costs a fraction of the price. Maybe you are in doubt? Now listen to the EPH3.
In addition to the simple functionality of the mix knob, the Flutter and the Mix knob make this pedal unstoppable because of their range and usability. This adds to the fact that the delays never get in the way of your original signal. Also, this delay excels at slapback, and Gilmour-esque lead tones. If lost or stolen, I would another one immediately from the Lovepedal website. If you are looking to create a dynamic duo of pedal effects, try the EPH3 and the Lovepedal Eternity Burst Overdrive.
