Powering pedals worldwide? The BBE Supa Charger Power Supply!
The BBE Supa Charger Power Supply was the answer to my pedalboard woes, crossing from living in the USA to Europe. The real kicker to this pedal is that it is (almost) like a Voodoo Pedal Power 2 (locked to a certain voltage based on where you purchase it). The difference is the voltage switch which compensates for Voltages between 120V and 240V adjusted by a simple switch.
With the help of a computer power cable sporting the correct plug per your country, you can travel anywhere in the western civilized world with your beloved effect pedals.
This is no ordinary power supply, as the norm nowadays is the Visual Sound 1-spot. The BBE Supa Charger Power Supply offers 8 isolated inputs, 6 of which offer 100ma, and 2 at 200ma. The average pedal draws 15-40ma.
Another trick up it’s sleeve is the dip switches which adjust the individual voltages supplied to your pedals. Again remember the 6 at 100ma?
Those can be altered from the standard 9v to 12v. Remember the 2 rated at 200ma?
These two can be adjusted from 9v to 16v. To my dismay, the BBE Supa Charger Power Supply did not touch the holy grail of 18v. All good, however.
Some Miscellaneous Specs from the site:
- Input: 120v-240v 50/60Hz
- Six 9VDC 100mA regulated: (1-4 & 7-8)
- Two 9VDC 200mA regulated: (5-6)
- Fuse Protected: Yes
- Dimensions: 6″ (W) x 3.5″ (D) x 1.6″ (H)
- 5-Year Warranty (Just like the Voodoo Pedal Power 2)
BUT THAT’S NOT ALL! (Infomercial-style-shouting)
One Major Reason to buy this and NOT the Voodoo Pedal Power 2 is that it installs on the underside of a Pedaltrain Pedal Board! Using the accompanying mounting kit, just fasten this to the fashioned space on the underside and you are ready to go.
With ports to access the Voltage switch and the power plugin, this is a great duo that will work for years to come…hopefully!
