And now, the newest addition…the Analogman King of Tone Overdrive Pedal.
We all know it’s the Unicorn Juice Drive! It’s an amazing pedal, to be sure, and like most, it was based off of another circuit! Some have compared it to the almighty Klon, and also to the supreme Tubescreamer.
The Analogman King of Tone is modeled after the Marshall Bluesbreaker Pedal. I guess the circuits are ridiculously similar. Check it our for yourself! There is a waiting list for this bad boy. They said it would be 24 months, I waited 10.
Incredible build quality! The finish is incredibly durable, knobs are easy to tweak. The custom pcb circuit board is populated cleanly and neatly, with low tolerance components, Alpha pots, and jacks top notch. Aside from stylistic differences in the design from what I’d prefer, this is a well built pedal. I would like to have access to the dip switches as external toggles and external pots for the treble internal trim pots, however. There is no doubt that this board is fitted and styled for tone nerds!
It sounds good. Very Pristine, hi-fi mellowness. I’m playing a Keeley Comp into a Fulldrive 2 Mosfet into a King of Tone. As a (2-stage) boost, this pedal gives a completeness to the Fulldrive’s compression. When stacking overdrive pedals like this one on top of the Fulldrive 2, I get three instantly usable tones.
Settings: Vintage, Mosfet, no boost…
Then the KoT: Dipswitches to factory settings. Yellow side, drive full, volume 11 o’clock, tone noon. Nice open drive, not nearly as compressed as the fulldrive 2. Then the red channel drive at 1 o’clock, volume wherever the boost needs to be. The Internal Trimpots adjust the Treble for each channel, I cranked mine up a bit…
I juiced it a little bit with the Fulldrive 2, KoT yellow for open drive, KoT red for for furry drive.
Combos: #1. Just the Fulldrive. #2. Fulldrive and KoT yellow. #3. Fulldrive, both sides of the KoT.

It’s not for everyone, but it works quite well for me! Enjoy!
