Scripture: Romans 3
9 What shall we conclude then? Are we any better ? Not at all! We have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under sin.
21 But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
28 For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law. Dikaioustai Dikaiyo-o ‘meaning innocent’
Paul does not want there to be any mistake, he is not saying that he is better than anyone else.
Al are the same in ‘missing the mark’, and will not earn the prize we had hoped to gain. We don’t get a share in what we thought was ours, no matter how good we are.
Again, Paul says that there is no difference.
Faith is the great connector.
This news that all of mankind needs our help should drive us to develop new ways of reaching out with the great news of Jesus Christ. Christians are people who have given up trying to earn ranks, grades, points that would lie that you are getting somewhere in Christ.
Romans 1:14 For I have a great sense of obligation to people in both the civilized world and the rest of the world, to the educated and uneducated alike.
His gift is not based on anything you can do, and it is for all!
God, help us to trust your promises, as you are so good to us…although we might to know it yet!
