Genesis 31 Soap Bible Study
Scripture: Genesis 31
3 Then the Lord said to Jacob, “Return to the land of your father and grandfather and to your relatives there, and I will be with you.”
55 Laban got up early the next morning, and he kissed his grandchildren and his daughters and blessed them. Then he left and returned home.
Family drama continues to follow the life of Jacob. Laban attempts to get the most out of God’s blessed Jacob, but fails. God reveals more and more the power he has to change the direction, nature, and life-giving power he has over animals, people, and creation as a whole.
Jacob might have been right about how Laban would have taken his wives had he approached him with the idea of leaving. After all, Jacob meant a laborer in his midst.

God – Help me to end relationships with integrity, as this is one of the most important lessons I’m learning in living for you. Give me discernment and active wisdom in the midst of circumstances both gracious and potentially volatile.
