Change guitar capacitors now! While everyone else is hitting up the New Year’s Eve sales, consider doing a cheap but necessary up-grade to your beloved strat, les paul, or tele!

to change your capacitors! I’m not begging you to, I’m ordering you
to…for your own good! I switched from the cheap ceramic circle
capacitors to PIO (Paper in Oil) Capacitors. These are sold as
Vitamin Q’s, or as Russian NOS (New, Old Standard) I went with the
New Old Standard, Russian kind. It was cheaper, but still sounds
sickly better than the circles of death-to-tone caps that were

My thoughts exactly. He handed me a kit of Russian issue pio caps and basically made me promise that i would change my caps, even if I didn’t buy them from him. Here’s the ‘before’ picture with the ceramics… If you know anything of my past with soldering, I chose to replace my pots as well (much cleaner looking!)
Let me know if you have changed your caps or are thinking about it! Some people say that one cannot really hear the difference, however I certainly do, as you may.
Enjoy these links tone-freaks!
Peace to you, Guitarburger
